I LOVE cushions! When it comes to decor and soft furnishings, cushions add the perfect finishing touch to a sofa or bed. There are so many options these days, so have fun and play with colour, pattern and texture for a layered look. Above are a few of my favourite cushions right now. My picks for patterns and colour to brighten up any space in your home.
STYLE:
Not sure where to start? There is so much choice out there today, it can be overwhelming how to start your selections. But don’t stress, it can be fun and interesting playing with different cushion combinations to get a look that suits your personality and style. Have a play, and if you’re still stuck, give me a call for help. Here’s a few pointers.
Gone is the matchy-matchy, all the same cushion vibe (thank god)
Start with one you love, or pick a colour scheme (artwork in the room can provide helpful inspiration)
Choose different shapes and sizes to add dimension and interest (a rectangle looks great in front of a couple of squares)
Try a mix of pattern, texture and plain to perfect the look (within one colour palette and/or neturals helps with this)
Play with the arrangement, until it feels right
Layer up your look until you have an arrangement you love
FEATHER ALL THE WAY:
Always wondered how they get that karate chop look on cushions? Cushions with feather inners.
They give you that luxurious look and feel, and are the best for that plumped look.
They are oh so comfy to snuggle against.
They sit better on your sofa or beds, and don’t slip off slippery surfaces like leather.
They last longer in general than cheap alternatives. And simply switch them into a new cover when you want to change up your look.
