Styling Tips For Selling

If you’re thinking about putting your home on the market, here are some key staging tips to help.

1️⃣ DECLUTTER

This is the most important tip. Remove anything that’s unnecessary, and then either bin, donate, or sell. This will help create space.

2️⃣ DEPERSONALISE

This one can be hard, but it’s about enabling potential buyers to picture themselves in your home. Remove any family portraits, knick knacks etc.

3️⃣ IMPROVE YOUR CURB APPEAL

You have one chance to make the first impression, and help someone fall in love immediately. Whether it’s a garden tidy up, cutting the trees back, greenery in planters at the front door, or a fresh coat of paint on the front door. Take a step back and think about the buyers.

4️⃣ STYLE KEY ROOMS

Style up your living room, bedrooms, kitchen, dining and bathroom. Stripped back with just a few key styling pieces - plump cushions, books, lamps, throws, plants, flowers in a pretty vase, fresh towels.

5️⃣ TIDY UP THE OUTDOORS

Don’t overlook the outdoors. We love the outdoors, and you can’t go past a home with great indoor/outdoor flow. Get rid of those weeds, cut back the garden, clean the outdoor furniture, and remove anything you don’t need.

6️⃣ FRESH BED LINEN

Fresh linen and a made bed, you can’t beat it. You want to create a calm and relaxing space buyers can imagine themselves diving into.

7️⃣ CLEAN UP ANY TOYS

Get the kids to help (if you can). Whether it’s a toy box, drawer or container that gets temporarily moved to the garage, you want to remove mess and clutter.

Remember, you have just seconds to attract buyers, and maximise your homes potential. If you need help with styling, decluttering and fresh eyes, send me a message or give me a call today.
